3 a.m. Wake Up To Carnival: Prime Minister Blames God.

I just got woken up by passing trucks outfitted with large speakers belting out some silly political jingle at 3 a.m. here in San Fernando, Trinidad and Tobago. A quick check, and yes: the PNM has won the election, and they're in a mood so good. As the Prime Minister stated:

...Manning noted that it was a night worthy of celebration after a hard fought and hard won victory, but advised supporters not to keep it "clean and pure" and not get into any conflicts which would mar the win.

Clearly, shaking people out of beds at 3 a.m. with passing trucks belting music, straining the decibel limitations of hearing - clearly, that noise pollution is not considered a 'conflict'. It is... what? Neighborly?

Patrick Manning blames God.

Basdeo Panday blames the PNM and the Congress of the People.

And Winston Dookeran? He had nowhere to sit.

This level of noise at this hour - which is actually against the Law unless there is a variance - certainly does not make me feel happy that the PNM won. But the Trinidad and Tobago Prime Minister blames God, so - I suppose God has His reasons. The flood thing might have been nicer, though. At least I could sleep through that.

The grasshoppers are dancing outside. I wonder how the ants who have to go to work in a few hours feel? Blatant disregard. Shameless.

When you wake people up at 3 a.m. with this sort of nonsense, you shouldn't expect them to be happy.
