It's official. Flickr integrates better with Facebook. For those of you who, like me, just didn't like the Flickr 3rd party stuff on Facebook - this could be what you're looking for.

It's as simple as connecting the two on Flickr.

Of course, I found this after I uploaded some photos from yesterday... so hopefully it works as well as I think it should in the future.

Google Buzz: First Thoughts

Google Buzz ScreenshotEveryone has been writing about Google Buzz this week. It's no surprise that when I started checking out Google Buzz that I found most people in my somewhat small network (so far) were buzzing about... you guessed it... Google Buzz. First adopters always seem to do this; I wonder sometimes whether the first telephones belonged to people who only talked about telephones.

Privacy Concerns

Having used Google Buzz for about a day, writing about it now is somewhat handicapped - it will take time to actually get into the full swing of Google Buzz. I did start using it with some concerns.

The ACLU is being active about what the Washington Post reported about the Google Partnership with the U.S. National Security Agency (NSA). Frankly, the thought of my Google interactions being a part of NSA's stockpile of information on myself and people I know is... disturbing. Read more »

This article on social media and the Haitian earthquake points out one of the problems that I was forecasting with the Alert Retrieval Cache (ARC) project. Bear in mind, too, that I'm not just a geek. I'm a former Navy Corpsman who was BLS-I, ACLS, PHTLS, and administrated/supervised the NTC Orlando ED for 12 hour shifts.
