In the latest news, LatestSoup posted about a fake image of an explosion near the Pentagon being taken seriously on Twitter.
Unsurprisingly, the fake image of the Pentagon explosion sent jitters through the stock market. Verified accounts on Twitter apparently unknowingly helped with this because – surprise! – paying $15 doesn’t always mean you know what you’re talking about. Who knew? Having money doesn’t make one infallible.
AlJazeera, though, did use the opportunity to explain how to spot AI generated fake images, so that’s a useful read.
